The challenge
To bring together content from various sources into a cohesive CD-ROM title that would complement the textbook by providing an enriching,
interactive experience to students.
The process
Based on the author's recommendations for the CD's look & feel, two variants for the main interface were developed. Flash shells
were created to facilitate content integration, followed by an involved effort to accommodate both existing and new content we produced.
QuickTime VR was used to develop interactive map tours, while Director was the tool of choice for map tutorials, for which we hired
voiceover talent and oversaw the recording process.
Several iterations of carefully addressing content changes and implementing supplied fixes allowed for a clean goldmaster.
The outcome
A browser-based CD-ROM that seamlessly integrated both old and new content, all within an attractive and easy-to-navigate design.
