The challenge
To create a series of modules for this Publishing division that would be easily reusable and cost-effective over many Nursing titles.

The process
The initial project entailed creating the CD-ROM framework based on a streamlined process, whereby content could be easily "plugged into" each CD iteration. Specifications for the tagging of files were supplied to the client, allowing them to submit assets to us in a format ready to be processed by the shell.

The shell allows for the following, resulting in a unique CD-ROM title per textbook:

an original design matching the textbook

quizzing capability, with a mix of question types

objectives and case studies with imagery

video and animation content with associated questions, which can be saved or printed

audio glossary capability

an easily-adaptable navigational scheme for browsing through chapter content and quickly accessing global assets

The outcome
The first official CD-ROM title was a success, resulting in subsequent refinements, and the production of close to fifteen titles in the course of the first year.
